This ended up being a 27 hour ordeal. Nikki first got word that the induction would start at a doctors checkup about three weeks prior to the estimated due date. With itchy hands and feet the concern was bile salts accumulating in the liver and how that could potentially impact the baby. The safest fix was to start inducing asap to get this baby out.
The next day (May 24th) we went to RUH at 1pm for our scheduled induction. But after 26 hours (now May 25th) on an IV of medical strength oxytocin our little Rae finally decided to come out.
